Writer Eugene Garcia-Cross

Eugene Garcia-Cross began his career as a novelist and short story writer. He's the author of the collection Fires of Our Choosing and has taught Creative Writing at Penn State, Northwestern, and The University of Chicago among other schools. Since transitioning to TV, Eugene has completed two National Hispanic Media Coalition TV Writers' Programs and has written for Disney Channel's, Gabby Duran & The Unsittables as well as the NBC comedy Indebted, starring Fran Drescher, Steven Weber, and Adam Pally. Most recently, Eugene served as a Story Editor on the reboot of Punky Brewster for NBC's The Peacock. Eugene was a member of the 2017-18 NBC Writers on the Verge Program and also worked as the Writer's Assistant to comedian Al Madrigal. Recently, Eugene sold his first pilot to the Disney Channel, a comedy based on his childhood entitled "The Puerto Ricans Under the Stairs." He lives in LA with his wife and two sons.
